More Information

Our Volunteer Experience Promise
We are actively building a culture of good volunteer experiences.  That means:
  • Volunteers are treated with kindness and respect
  • People are not micromanaged or controlled
  • Contributions are recognized and celebrated
  • Volunteers feel connected, not isolated
Before each volunteer activity, we aim to include a short connection activity (about 10–15 minutes) so people can meet, feel welcomed, and start on shared ground.
Onboarding & Community Learning Support
Volunteering is a relationship, not a transaction.  All volunteers receive:
  • A clear onboarding process
  • Orientation to Healthy Archuleta’s mission and values
  • Information about how their role fits into the bigger picture
  • Access to staff support
  • Community learning opportunities
We are strengthening our internal systems so volunteers are:
  • Contacted promptly
  • Matched to appropriate opportunities
  • Supported throughout their engagement
Volunteer Teams & Community
Whenever possible, volunteers are organized into small teams (3–4 people) connected to specific projects or activities. This helps:
  • Build relationships
  • Share responsibility
  • Reduce burnout
  • Create peer support
We also host:
  • Periodic volunteer gatherings
  • Learning and connection opportunities
  • Volunteer spotlights and recognition
Your Voice Matters
We want to know how your experience feels.  We regularly:
  • Ask for volunteer feedback
  • Check in about interest levels (do you want more, less, or different involvement?)
  • Follow up after events and projects
  • Improve based on what we hear
If something doesn’t feel right, we want to know and we take it seriously.
Outreach & Growing the Circle
Volunteers are ambassadors.  We invite volunteers to:
  • Help share opportunities with friends and networks
  • Suggest new volunteer roles or project ideas
  • Invite others who may want to contribute skills or time
If you have ideas for outreach or engagement, we want to hear them.
Volunteer Requirements & Engagement
Each opportunity will clearly outline:
  • Time commitment
  • Expectations
  • Skills or experience (if any)
  • Physical or logistical considerations
  • Support provided
We aim for transparency and choice, so you can say yes with confidence.
