Join us to learn about the types of preventive and primary care services that are available in Archuleta County. Healthy Archuleta, in partnership with Archuleta County, is working to complete a nutrition security and health equity assessment over the next couple of years. We are looking at two broad areas related to food and preventative healthcare issues and opportunities in Archuleta County and will seek to capture the voices and experiences of the community in these areas. Thursday’s conversation will focus on our community's experience as it relates to preventative health care access and utilization (coverage, timeliness, workforce, and service). According to HealthCare.gov “Preventative services is defined as routine health care that includes screenings, check-ups, and patient counseling to prevent illnesses, disease, or other health problems.”
Learning Efforts & Opportunities
We partner with the Colorado State University (CSU) Archuleta and La Plata County to support training opportunities for our community members. On October 28, the Coalition supported the participation of community members in a Cottage Food Training. Please send us an email if you are interested in topics such as cooking, nutrition, health/well-being, stress management, emotional eating, InstantPot cooking, pre-diabetes prevention, diabetes self-management, weight management, behavior change/creating positive health habits, physical activity, (limited) financial literacy, plus a variety of other topics.
