Nutrition Security Health Equity Assessment
Healthy Archuleta, in partnership with Archuleta County, is working to complete a nutrition security and health equity assessment over the next couple of years. We are looking at two broad areas related to nutrition security and preventative healthcare issues and opportunities in Archuleta County and will seek to capture the voices and experiences of the community in these areas. Learn more about the assessment HERE.
Food Distribution through the Food Pantries and Other Partners
We honor and are grateful for the work of the seven food pantries in Archuleta County.  The FSFE - Food Coalition facilitated the formation of the Food Pantry Network in Archuleta County and continues to support them through food resources and Food Distribution Center.  Loaves and Fishes and the Pagosa Senior Center offer resources and are a great service to our community members.  To get more information about the hours of operation of these champions, click HERE.
Vista Lake Community Garden
This project is a community-led effort that relies on the insight and expertise of residents.  You are welcome to attend the ongoing activities and build community around garden, food, and culture.  For information on dates and times of the event checkout our facebook.  To learn more, click HERE.
Community Conversations
FSFE - Food Coalition hosted Community Conversations from April 2020 through Spring of 2022.  We welcome the opportunity to host future in-person and remote conversations. Please send us an email to suggest topics for conversations you would like us to host.

Past events & happenings...

Community Celebration
FSFE - Food Coalition celebrated and honored our Community on July 23rd, 2022. To get more information about the event, click HERE.
Participatory Voting
We hosted a Participatory Voting Event May 22-25. Voters decided which areas Healthy Archuleta will put at the forefront of its work over the next two years. Healthy Archuleta conducts assessments, secures resources, and supports community initiatives relating to food and nutrition that can advance the health of our community. We asked that you look over the various focus areas and tell us what matters most to you. Learn how you community members could participate HERE.
Archuleta Food Summit 2022
Over 100 people joined FSFE - Food Coalition in a day-long food summit event on April 9, 2022. To learn more about the event, click HERE.
Book Club
The FSFE - Food Coalition hosts book clubs. The most recent one featured, “Closing the Food Gap: Resetting the Table in the Land of the Plenty,” by Mark Winne, October 19th - November 16th in Pagosa Springs. To learn more, click HERE.
Snack in a Pack
The Snack in a Backpack project was a community initiated project that was developed and selected during the participatory budgeting process. In partnership with the Archuleta School District, it was set to roll out for three weeks in April. The sacks of snacks offer nutritious foods to support children's health and wellbeing. You can learn more about this project by clicking HERE.
