Learn More About Health Care Resources HERE.

Primary & Preventative Health Care Access

Learn more about where you can access primary and preventative health care services in our community. The below information lists providers for medical, mental health, and dental services, contact information, location, hours, and some services. Some of our local health providers offer access to interpretation services. Be sure to ask. There are also additional resources for understanding the primary & preventative services recommended throughout the life cycle.  Please contact the below organizations directly for the most up to date information on their services, insurance, and other related matters.

Primary & Preventative Health Care

Preventative health care is aimed at preventing illness and the early detection of disease, when treatment has the best potential for a positive outcome.  According to the US Department of Health and Human Services Offices of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, preventative care can help reduce risk for diseases, disabilities or even death, yet millions of people in the United States do not access these services.   Too often, people are hesitant to spend money to access healthcare until health problems actually arise.  However, preventative care can actually catch potential health problems before they become real problems, resulting in increased health care expenses. Annual wellness visits/physical exams encourage the promotion and maintenance of good physical and mental health.  Examples of preventative care include such things as vaccinations, mental health screenings and blood pressure checks as well as cervical, breast, prostate and colorectal cancer screening; checking for high cholesterol levels, osteoporosis, diabetes, and other potential health problems.   In summary, preventative health care can actually increase your lifespan and quality of life.  Most health insurance plans will cover the costs of preventative care.
